A Silent Hero

Jim Gerline spent WWII in the Pacific on board the Manitowoc-built submarine, the U.S.S. Guitarro. He kept a secret journal during the war, and his entires included the activities and enemy encounters of the Guitarro. This book combines Jim’s journal, information from interviews with him, and excerpts from the Navy War Patrol Records. It was written as a tribute to him and as a family history for all who follow.
