Growing Up With Moocher was inspired by a real racehorse that was raised and raced in Indiana. This story is as much about the special relationship developed between the owner’s grandson and the horse, as the horse’s illustrious racing career.

Growing Up With Moocher features many colorful horse images, including play by play description and images of a real race and easy to understand terminology, in the back of the book.

The author hopes that this heartwarming story will inspire children to believe in themselves, no matter the challenges they face. Tina wishes to encourage others as well, while opening a window to Quarter Horse racing that some may never get to see. Perhaps it will even inspire them to come to the races themselves!
